"Jung's play keeps you in thrilling, unnerving suspense."

- New York Magazine

WOLF PLAY–Hansol Jung's critically acclaimed, provocative new play about the families we both choose and un-choose–comes to The Spot this April.

When a young Korean boy is adopted by a new family via "Yahoo! message boards" (read: illegally "re-homed") chaos is unleashed. The boy is not what he seems.

When his ex-father drops him off, ready and raring to reassign power of attorney in the doorway, it is revealed that the boy's new parents are also not what they seemed.

The internet is a place where people misrepresent things...

In the messy aftermath of the online-adoption one thing is absolutely certain: wolves know their kind. (And they do not use internet.)

WOLF PLAY is a complex story of family and belonging, the lengths to which we'll go for love and a glimpse into the shadow side of our digital society.

SUITABILITY:

All ages are welcome. Please note there is strong language (swearing) used in the show. Bright lights and water-based atmospheric haze are used in some scenes. If you have questions about bringing younger audience members feel free to email info@spotsunvalley.com for more information.

RUN TIME:

approx. 90 minutes with no intermission

"The gray wolf is a social animal, travelling in nuclear families consisting of a mated pair, accompanied by offspring. Wolf packs rarely adopt other wolves into their fold, and typically kill them. In the rare cases where wolves are adopted, the adoptee is invariably an immature animal unlikely to compete for breeding rights with the mated pair."
